Head of Mental Health

Overview:
Our client is looking to appoint a skilled and passionate mental health professional to lead and shape mental health services in a secure healthcare environment. As the Head of Mental Health, you will oversee the strategic and operational delivery of services, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care for patients. This is a critical leadership position for someone who thrives in dynamic settings and is committed to driving positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct leadership, management, and mentorship to junior staff.

  • Develop and implement robust clinical care pathways that are evidence-based and patient-focused.

  • Deliver a comprehensive suite of services that address patient needs with compassion and professionalism.

  • Manage inpatient ward rotas efficiently, balancing staff resources and service demands.

  • Lead clinical audits, service evaluations, and research to support continuous service improvement.

  • Offer clear clinical guidance and leadership, ensuring the highest standards of practice across the team.

Requirements:

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).

  • Proven leadership experience in mental health service delivery.

  • Experience in secure or prison healthcare settings is advantageous.

  • Strong clinical assessment and examination skills.

  • Demonstrated involvement in service evaluations and clinical audits.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
