Job Description

We are seeking experienced Psychiatrists to perform one-off psychiatric assessments and prepare medico-legal reports under the MedCo framework for individuals involved in Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs).

🧠 MedCo Psychiatrists – RTA Medico-Legal Assessments & Reports
📍 Location: UK-wide (Clinic-Based or Remote)
💷 Fee: £215 (MedCo Band 4 Fixed Rate)

📝 Role Summary:

You will be expected to:

• Conduct a psychiatric assessment (face-to-face or remote)

• Evaluate:

  • Pre-accident mental health

  • Psychological and physical injuries

  • Current condition and treatment

  • Prognosis and impact on daily life

• Produce a CPR Part 35-compliant report including:

  • Diagnosis and prognosis

  • Expected recovery timeline

  • Recommendations for therapy sessions (if needed)

  • Statement of truth and duty to the court

✅ Requirements:

• GMC registered with a licence to practise

• MedCo-accredited (or willing to register)

• Previous experience in medico-legal reporting

• Clinic availability is preferred, though remote assessments are acceptable

💷 Rate: £215 per case (MedCo Band 4 – Psychiatrists)
