We are urgently looking for NOMS-cleared GPs, particularly those with Substance Misuse 1+2 qualifications looking to do regular and ad-hoc locum shifts. However, we're open to considering GPs with SM1 and some HMP experience.

 

Due to the urgency, rates are negotiable, especially given the time of year. Below are the details:

 

System: SystemOne

HMP Exeter:

25/12/2023: 1-5pm (New Reception)

26/12/2023: PM session (1-5pm) & New Reception (6-9pm)

27/12/2023, 28/12/2023 & 29/12/2023: Full day and New Reception (9-5pm) & (6-9pm)

Note: RCGP Part 2 is desired for sessions involving new reception.

 

HMP Channings Wood:

27/12/2023, 28/12/2023 & 29/12/2023: Full day (9-5pm)

 

HMP The Verne:

26/12/2023: 9-2pm

28/12/2023: Full day (9-5pm)

29/12/2023: AM Session (9-1pm)

 

Sessions & shifts: The sessions can be full days; sometimes long days if that's the interest (Mondays-Sunday). The usual sessions run from 0900-1300 & 1330-1700, with 9 prisoners per session and some admin work (bloods/letters, etc.)  with a 30/60-minute break. You will be seeing 1-2 patients per hour; you won’t be very busy.

 

As new receptions may involve waiting around, GPs may need to handle admin tasks during downtime. Medical assessments will be conducted upon seeing the prisoner.
