Job Description

We are seeking a Plastic Surgeon with Paediatric experience to carry out a medico-legal assessment in Gloucestershire for a child involved in a Road Traffic Accident (RTA).

Case Summary:

  • Injury: Laceration to the right forehead

  • Records for review: 73 pages

  • Instruction: Provide an expert opinion on the extent of injury, cosmetic impact, and long-term prognosis

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-person clinical assessment

  • Detailed review of medical documentation

  • Completion of a medico-legal report, including:

    • Clinical evaluation and findings

    • Causation and severity analysis

    • Prognosis and potential for scarring

    • Consideration of psychosocial and developmental factors

This is a standalone assessment with no follow-up required – ideal for Consultants with expertise in medico-legal reporting and paediatric trauma.
