Job Description

Our client is a market leading and forward-thinking community healthcare services provider. This provider support both primary and secondary care services, ensuring a seamless and delivery of Dermatology, ENT and Audiology provision to patients that have been referred from GP services and or NHS Trusts.

Role: Audiologist

Location:  Bedfordshire 

Days available: Monday-Friday

Hours: 0900-1800 (or similar)

Rate: £30.00per hour (paid limited or as sole trader, so you get the whole amount!)

 

Role duties:

  • You will be accountable for high quality clinical care to adult patients attending the community Ear Nose and Throat service (new patients and follow ups).
  • This will include diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders related to hearing and balance.You will care for the health of the people in our local communities, treating the patient as we would want our dearest relative to be treated.
  • You will care for our patients/families, colleagues, and communities.
  • You will provide high quality, and safe care for our patients and families.
  • You will conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the nature and extent of a patient's hearing or balance impairment.
  • You will use a variety of tests and techniques, such as audiometry, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions, and balance assessments.
  • You will develop and implement personalised treatment plans for patients with hearing and balance disorders.  This may include fitting and programming hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone conduction devices, and providing aural rehabilitation.
  • You will assess and manage patients with dizziness and balance disorders.
  • You will evaluate and manage patients with tinnitus (ringing in the ears) by providing counselling, sound therapy, and habituation techniques.
  • You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as ENT doctors and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients with hearing and balance disorders.

Candidate Requirements

  • You will need strong communication skills and the ability to empathise with patients and their families.
  • You will be proficient in using specialised audiology equipment and software.
  • You will have substantial experience in diagnosing and treating ENT conditions, including surgical procedures, within a UK healthcare setting.
  • You will need to stay updated on the latest advancements in audiology research and technology.
  • A BSc in Audiology from a recognised university.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a practicing audiologist.
  • Membership in professional organisations such as the British Society of Audiology (BSA) and the British Academy of Audiology (BAA).
  • You will have a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the ear, nose, and throat, as well as current evidence-based practice guidelines in ENT & Audiology.
